Privacy Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
- We collect only what's needed to run pHBytes: your email, what you choose to log, and your plan.
- Your meal and symptom logs are private to you.
- We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.
- You can delete entries anytime, or ask us to delete your whole account.
Who we are
pHBytes is operated by La Vie en Rose LLC ("we," "us"). Questions about privacy: support@phbytes.com.
What we collect
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Account: email address and sign-in method (email/password or Google) | To create your account and let you sign in |
| What you log: saved foods, meals, symptoms and their severity, times, notes, grocery list | To show your lists and your personal patterns back to you |
| Membership: your plan, its status, and a Stripe customer ID | To give you Premium and manage billing |
| Newsletter: your email, only if you subscribe | To send the emails you asked for |
| Barcode numbers you scan or type | To look up product ingredients |
Your card details are entered directly with Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
If you use pHBytes without an account, your saved foods stay in your browser on that device and are never sent to us.
Your camera is used only while the scanner screen is open, to read barcodes. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded or stored.
Health information
Meal and symptom logs can be sensitive. We use them only to provide pHBytes to you — for example, to show which foods seem to bother you, to build your meal plan, and to make the doctor report you ask for. We don't use them for advertising, we never sell them, and we don't share them with anyone except the service providers below who store them on our behalf. You decide what to log, and the app asks for your consent before you start using the trigger tracker.
How we share information
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with:
- Google Firebase — stores your account and logs securely.
- Stripe — processes payments and manages subscriptions.
- Netlify — hosts the website and our payment code.
- Mailchimp (Intuit) — stores your email and sends the newsletter, only if you subscribe.
- Open Food Facts — receives only the barcode number you look up.
- Authorities — if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
If pHBytes is ever sold or merged, your information would transfer under this policy, and we'd tell you first.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and logs while your account is open. When you delete an entry, it's removed. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and its data within 30 days, except billing records we're required to keep by law.
Your choices and rights
- Delete entries anytime in the app.
- Download your log from Tracker → History.
- Delete your account or ask for a copy of your data by emailing support@phbytes.com from your account's email address.
- Unsubscribe from emails with the link at the bottom of any email.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We'll honor them — just ask.
Nevada residents
pHBytes is operated from Nevada, and we follow Nevada's online privacy law (NRS Chapter 603A) and its consumer health data privacy law.
We don't sell your information. You can still send us a request not to sell your covered information at any time by emailing support@phbytes.com with the subject "Do not sell." We'll confirm your identity using your account's email address and respond within 60 days.
Consumer health data. The health-related information we handle is what you choose to log: the foods you eat, the symptoms you feel, their severity and timing, notes, your meal preferences (such as foods you avoid), and any details you type into a doctor report. It comes only from you. We use it only to provide the features you ask for, and we share it only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf. We ask for your consent before you start logging, and you can withdraw it anytime by deleting your logs or your account.
You have the right to:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data,
- get a copy of it and a list of the third parties we share it with,
- have it deleted, and
- withdraw your consent.
To use these rights, email support@phbytes.com from your account's email address. We'll respond as quickly as we can and within the time the law requires. If we turn down a request, we'll explain why and how you can appeal.
We don't let other companies track what you do on pHBytes across other websites, and we don't use location tracking.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and security rules make sure only you can read your own logs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.
Children
pHBytes accounts are for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
